Switchboard is a local Claude Code and Codex router. It assesses a new conversation's task with Jev, applies deterministic confidence rules to select the model and reasoning effort, and pins that route through follow-ups, tool calls, and resume to avoid unnecessary prompt-cache disruption.

What Jev does here
Jev classifies the task's capability tier, whether context is sufficient, and the lowest adequate reasoning effort for the candidate model. Application code applies confidence floors, maps the result to a model and effort, and persists that pair for later turns and tool continuations.
Adds structured choices or scores to the workflow; performance and cost benefits have not been independently verified.
Author and repository text is preserved where clear; missing languages are enriched automatically. Checks establish source-level Jev integration, not runtime, safety, or performance validation.
